Humble Beginnings

What started out as a normal childhood in Northern California took a turn for the unexpected in my early teens when my dad took a position at an NGO in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Attending an international school with people from virtually every continent, learning Russian at school and with friends, and getting a crash course in intercultural communication and a global mindset was life changing to say the least!

After a impactful five years, I returned to a home that did not feel like home to attend UC Davis. I struggled to reconcile my international identity with my decidedly domestic-focused classmates and friends. I soon found my way with major in International Relations, my Russian language studies, and eventually study abroad in Lund, Sweden.

Professional Journey

After graduation, I began working in an education consulting company which is where my interest in project management and customer relations professionally started. Gaining hands-on experience in operational logistics and assessment project planning while working directly with schools was invaluable and enjoyable.

Following my years there, I had the opportunity to work as a university instructor in an international university in Henan, China. Teaching Global Business English courses through the university’s partnership with Fort Hays State University solidified my passion for business, marketing, and education.

It was in China and at the Middlebury Language Schools where I gained advanced proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.

My love for languages, project management, customer service, and technology combined perfectly into my position as the Marketing and Admissions Manager in the Language and Professional Programs at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies where I worked for five years.

Current Adventure

My aim now is to utilize my experience in management, software testing, and organization to  become a project management professional and work for a values-drive company in I.T. or marketing.
